Major Commissions for Religious Paintings
2009 Trinity Hospice Bispham Blackpool; six 6ft oil paintings for the chapel.
Penny Warden has been commissioned by the Board of Trustees of this hospice for six 6ft canvasses for their Chapel to mark their 25th Anniversary in 2010.This is a very significant and exciting project which will transform a very important space within their organization.
“The large chapel, which is currently very simply decorated opens onto the reception area and all patients, relatives, volunteers and staff, passes by it on a daily basis. The hospice would like the artwork in the chapel to speak to and comfort those who pass. Something that is light, colorful and full of movement. The Trustees wish to work with an artist who will engage with the project on a spiritual as well as creative level.”
The Trustees were very impressed by the quality of Penny’s work that hangs permanently in Blackburn Cathedral and felt that she was the right artist to rise to this challenge.
